How do I start the RealWare storyline in Quasimorph?
Sell Jane’s secret data / AnCom PCPU chip to RealWare on the Magnum. They confirm contact. There is no instant map marker.

The RealWare arc is the military-industrial spine of Quasimorph 1.0 — two endings gated by secret data, a delayed Magnum message, one AnCom Espionage hack, then the Covert Operations Guide contract on Palace Asteroid. This RealWare storyline Quasimorph guide covers the verified trigger order, why the board stays blank for ~two in-game weeks, which AnCom job actually counts, and when to refuse an early Palace ping. | Fact | Detail |
|---|---|
| Faction | RealWare — industrial military corp |
| Endings | 2 of 9 campaign endings |
| Key item | Jane's secret data / AnCom PCPU chip |
| Wait | ~two in-game weeks after the sale |
| Required job type | AnCom + Espionage (not Infiltration / Elimination) |
| Headline contract | Covert Operations Guide · Palace / Data Center / EMP Scorcher |
| Related | AnCom storyline · Factions · All endings |
The RealWare storyline starts on the Magnum, not on a story asteroid. After the opening, Jane hands you a choice around an AnCom PCPU / secret data chip. That sale is the fork for RealWare, AnCom, and Tezctlan — treat it as a campaign lock, not pocket change.

Selling to RealWare starts Covert Operations Guide. Selling to AnCom starts Community and Anarchy on the AnCom storyline. Selling to Tezctlan opens the cult spine. One chip, one buyer, one timeline — most players keep a second save if they want both corporate endings.
RealWare’s reply is a delayed Magnum message, not an instant contract. Players who reload looking for a pin are not missing a bug — they are early. Next section: how long to wait and what to run in the gap.
Because the RealWare storyline is a timer plus board filter, not a quest marker. After the sale you sit on the Magnum for about two in-game weeks. The solar map will not grow a RealWare skull until the message lands and you complete the AnCom Espionage beat.
| You did | What you see | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Sold secret data to RealWare | Thank-you / we will contact you | Wait. Do not resell the same intel |
| One or two quiet weeks | No Palace icon | Low-skull contracts, Training Center leftovers, Magnum upgrades |
| Message finally arrives | Board instruction, still no Palace | Take AnCom + Espionage — see next section |
| Hack + extract done | Covert Operations Guide can appear | Check gear before you accept Palace |
Use the gap the way the beginner guide uses the first hour: cheap extracts, clone loadouts, and two employers you actually want Tech on. Patch 1.0.2 now shows estimated Technology growth per faction when you pick a travel destination — useful while you idle the RealWare timer without spreading points across twelve corps. Power/Tech math stays on the factions guide.
Selling the chip to a second buyer, starting Civil Resistance manifesto week, or diving a three-skull AnCom Elimination will not spawn Palace faster. Those actions spend clones and can close the AnCom fork you still need for the hack. Next: the one AnCom contract type that counts.
The delayed RealWare message tells you to hit an AnCom station and use their data to hack a PCPU. Only Espionage contracts satisfy that beat. Infiltration and Elimination on the same employer look similar on the board and do not advance the RealWare storyline.
| AnCom job | Counts for RealWare? | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Espionage | Yes | PCPU / data-hack objective the message asks for |
| Infiltration | No | Wrong mission type — extract does not credit the story |
| Elimination | No | Combat clear, no hack step |
| Sabotage | No | Power swing for factions, not this quest |
Accept the AnCom Espionage card, reach the marked PCPU, and apply the RealWare data when the interact prompt appears. Then extract — dying on the way out wastes the week. Descent exit rules are unchanged; Patch 1.0.2 at least marks the evacuation portal on the minimap, which helps if the station is a Descent layout. See the extraction guide.
The next RealWare ping names the real target: Humankind's Hope Citadel / Palace Asteroid / Data Center / EMP Scorcher, filed as Covert Operations Guide. That card can show up before you are ready. Next section is the contract itself; the one after that is the go / no-go check.
Covert Operations Guide is the first named RealWare storyline contract after the AnCom hack. It is not a generic RealWare Elimination. The briefing points at Palace Asteroid’s data center and an EMP-scale objective — community write-ups and 1.0 playthroughs treat it as a mid-to-late Magnum job, not a week-two tutorial.

| Name you will see | Place | Role |
|---|---|---|
| Covert Operations Guide | Palace Asteroid / Humankind’s Hope | Headline RealWare story contract |
| Data Center | Inside Palace | Hack / objective floor — not a loot farm |
| EMP Scorcher | Palace objective | Named story beat, not a side modifier |
| Reap the Whirlwind | Later RealWare floor (Urparp) | Post-Palace beat; 1.0 hotfix fixed a 4th-floor death softlock |
There is no reliable public room-by-room Palace map that stays stable across seeds. This guide stops at trigger order, mission names, and gear gates. If a later floor is called Reap the Whirlwind, remember the 1.0.562 hotfix: dying on the fourth floor used to softlock the RealWare storyline, and throwing a TNB at Urparp could fail the beat. Those are patched; the fight is still not a beginner extract.
Covert Operations Guide is the door into RealWare’s two epilogues. The choice that splits them is a late dialogue / allegiance beat, not a hidden crate. Track both on the all endings checklist after you survive Palace. Next: when to launch and when to decline.
Palace can appear as soon as the hack credits. That does not mean you should go. Treat the card like a three-skull story job: if your clones still run Training Center leftovers, decline and keep raising RealWare Tech.
| Situation | Action | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Mid-game guns + meds + a spare clone | Accept Covert Operations Guide | You can eat one wipe and still continue |
| Starter kit / empty Magnum storage | Decline, run RealWare Tech contracts | Palace is a story spike, not a farm |
| AnCom week + Civil manifesto same time | Finish one movement first | Two story spines in one week burns clones |
| Quasimorphosis already high | Extract early on filler jobs first | Do not enter Palace already near eclipse |
| Only one clone with implants | Craft a backup body | Story death loses that loadout |
Patch 1.0.2 adds inventory sorting, slightly better starting kits, and AI / camera polish. It does not nerf Palace. Use the new travel Tech preview to bank RealWare upgrades during the wait, then launch. Implant and pact notes for that prep sit on the implants guide and pacts guide.
Go / no-go decided — next is what the two endings actually are.

RealWare contributes two of Quasimorph's 9 1.0 endings. Both sit on the same spine: secret data → wait → AnCom Espionage → Covert Operations Guide → later RealWare beats → finale dialogue. The split is an allegiance / ideology pick at the end of the arc, not a second secret chip.
| Beat | Locks what | Safe habit |
|---|---|---|
| Secret data buyer | Which storyline starts | Sell to RealWare only on this save |
| Skip Espionage | Covert Operations never credits | Filter the board for AnCom + Espionage |
| Wipe on Palace with no backup clone | Loadout, not the whole campaign | Keep a spare body on Magnum |
| Finale dialogue | Which of the two RealWare epilogues | Save before the last hub conversation |
| Feathered Masks / Tezctlan crossover | Rep spikes into other endings | Optional — see all endings |
You do not get both RealWare endings on one uninterrupted file unless you keep a pre-finale save. Completionists run a second Magnum or a reload. The endings page lists the pair without a room-by-room spoiler wall; this page is the trigger order that gets you to that choice.
After Palace, RealWare can send you to Reap the Whirlwind (Urparp, multi-floor). The 1.0 hotfix already fixed the fourth-floor death softlock and the TNB-on-Urparp fail. If your client is pre-hotfix, update before you treat a wipe as a quest bug. Next: how this fork fights AnCom and Tezctlan.
Secret data is shared bait. RealWare, AnCom, and Tezctlan all want the same early chip. Reputation can coexist for a while — you can still take AnCom Espionage for RealWare after selling to RealWare — but the sale and the finale pick are the locks.
| Buyer | Story that starts | Read next |
|---|---|---|
| RealWare | This page · Covert Operations Guide | Stay here |
| AnCom | Community and Anarchy → Men in Black | AnCom storyline |
| Tezctlan | Cult / rapture spine | All endings |
Yes, and you must — the Espionage hack is an AnCom contract. Raising AnCom Tech does not undo a RealWare sale. What undoes the RealWare ending is selling the story chip to someone else or picking the other ideology at the finale. Civil Resistance manifesto week is a third time sink; park it unless you are ready for two story spikes. Slogan notes live on the Civil Resistance guide.
A RealWare reputation spike (community notes: +75) can sit on the Feathered Masks mission Madness put to good uses — negative Tezctlan rep, Venus rapture, pact absorption, then Mars Sinkhole Oasis. That chain bleeds Tezctlan/Xiomara content into RealWare endings. It is optional crossover, not the start condition. Next: what to craft before you accept Palace.
Prep is Magnum work, not a Palace shopping list. You want a clone that can CQC a hallway, a clone or kit that can shoot a long room, meds, and enough storage to bring story items home.
AP, stance, and cover still decide the run. 1.0.2’s AI pass makes bad peeks more expensive, not less. Refresh the combat guide if you have been speed-clicking Training Center maps. Quasimorphosis on a long Palace dive will still eclipse you if you loot every corpse — meter rules stay on the Quasimorphosis guide.
Kits packed — the primer below is the whole RealWare storyline on one screen.
Sell Jane’s secret data to RealWare, ignore the missing map pin, run quiet contracts for ~two weeks, take AnCom + Espionage only, hack the PCPU, extract, then accept Covert Operations Guide when Palace is a mid-game job rather than a panic click. Keep a pre-finale save for the second RealWare ending. Do not sell the same chip to AnCom or Tezctlan on this file. Later Reap the Whirlwind is patched; Palace is not nerfed. Cross-check all endings and AnCom storyline before you start a second PMC for the other corporate pair.
Sell Jane’s secret data / AnCom PCPU chip to RealWare on the Magnum. They confirm contact. There is no instant map marker.
The contact is delayed ~two in-game weeks. Run low-risk contracts. The next required job is AnCom Espionage, then Covert Operations Guide.
No. Espionage counts. Infiltration, Elimination, and Sabotage do not replace the PCPU hack.
The named RealWare story contract after the AnCom hack. It targets Palace Asteroid / Humankind’s Hope — Data Center and EMP Scorcher. Decline it if you are still on starter kits.
Two of the 9 campaign endings. The split is a late-route choice. Keep a save if you want both on one PMC.
Not the AnCom endings on this same sale. You can still take AnCom Espionage for the RealWare hack. AnCom’s own two endings need the chip sold to AnCom — see AnCom storyline.
No new RealWare quest. 1.0.2 helps the wait (travel Tech preview, inventory sort, starting kits). An earlier 1.0 hotfix fixed Reap the Whirlwind’s fourth-floor death softlock and the Urparp TNB fail. Patch list: updates.
Not on this page. Seeds and layouts are not stable enough to publish a room list. Use the go / no-go table above and extract rules on the extraction guide.
